Dr. K. Moidu, the visionary behind KMCT Group of Institutions, founded the group with a commitment to providing exceptional healthcare and education to individuals from all walks of life. Hailing from Kuttiady in Calicut, Dr. Moidu is a distinguished medical practitioner and prominent social figure. He graduated in the first batch of M.B.B.S. students from Madurai Medical College in 1960.
In 1968, Dr. Moidu established Western Hospital, a 50-bed facility in the heart of Calicut city, followed by the establishment of National Hospital, a 300-bed multi-specialty institution. In 1994, he founded Kunhitharuvai Memorial Charitable Trust Group of Institutions (KMCT) to advance education and healthcare. Today, KMCT boasts over 22 professional colleges with more than 7,000 students. The institution directly employs over 3000 people and indirectly benefits more than 6,000 individuals.
Under Dr. Moidu’s leadership, KMCT has become one of Kerala’s premier educational and healthcare institutions, rapidly expanding with notable achievements and accolades. Dr. Moidu also played a key role as a founder director of the Muslim Educational Society (MES), contributing to the establishment of several educational institutions in Kerala. A respected leader, he has served as president of the Calicut Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), the Rotary Club of Calicut, and the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Calicut chapter. He is also a recipient of numerous awards and recognition for his contributions to education, healthcare, social welfare, and the cultural development, especially in Northern Kerala.
